Eat Sussex is a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to local produce, seasonal eating and sustainable production methods. The issues of food miles and carbon footprints are rarely far from the headlines lately and we all know we have to do our bit to tackle climate change. At Eat Sussex we believe that we can all make a contribution to reducing our impact by buying local produce.

But it's not all just about global warming. By supporting our local producers we believe we are supporting our local community. When we spend our money in a farm shop or a neighbourhood butchers or bakers, we are making an investment in our local economy. And we know that food loses nutrients the longer it is kept, so local food is fresher and better for you too.

We aim to support small-scale producers and retailers and the best restaurants, cafes and pubs in the region. We're proud of the amazing range of top quality fine food and drink, traditional and innovative, to be found on our doorstep and we're determined to put Sussex on the map as a world-class gastronomic destination.

Every issue of Eat Sussex features a range of delicious and easy-to-follow recipes highlighting the finest local and seasonal ingredients, lovingly photographed by Jean-Luc Brouard. Our very own Gastro-Gnome presents a series of insider guides to the best culinary treats available in towns and villages throughout Sussex. We also talk to local producers, retailers and chefs and highlight the best of what's available each season.

Eat Sussex is the only independent local food magazine available throughout East and West Sussex. It is distributed free to readers through box delivery schemes, hotels, tourist attractions, farmers'markets, farm shops, local shops, delis, restaurants, cafes and pubs.

I hope you enjoy our magazine and maybe even find something to inspire you to try something new; a recipe you've never cooked before, a speciality cheese or a shopping trip to your local farmers market. Please feel free to drop me a line at tony@eatsussex.co.uk and tell me what you think and what you'd like to see in the pages of Eat Sussex Magazine in future. I'd really love to hear from you.
